Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois has several special event fund raisers planned for the upcoming months for you to attend that are a great way to support Girl Scouts. By attending a special event, you can help financially support the girl program, resident camp and adult trainings, which benefit all girls; our leaders of tomorrow.
Once again, you can support Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois through the 2011 Birdies for Charity program, held as part of the John Deere Classic in the Quad Cities.
GSEIWI receives 100 percent of the pledges collected through Birdies for Charity – no funds received from pledges or donations goes to pay for prizes, marketing expenses, or administrative expenses. No money collected goes to PGA tour professionals.
Pledges are tax deductible. For the contest, all pledges must be received at the John Deere Classic tournament office by July 8, 2011. The Classic runs from July 4-10 this year.
One lucky supporter of the John Deere Classic's Birdies for Charity program will win a 2011 Chevrolet Camaro.
Other prizes include a John Deere riding mower, two round-trip tickets, a WaterPark car wash 26-week VIP package, and 100 other great prizes.
The Birdies for Charity Fund was established to support the continuing efforts of the John Deere Classic, a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization, to provide bonus dollars to participating charities.
Here's how it works: Simply make a one-time flat donation or pledge one cent or more per birdie. After the tournament, you'll be mailed a notice of your pledge amount due.
To enter the contest, guess the number of birdies that actually will be made by Tour Pros during the tournament, Wednesday through Sunday. A grand prize will be given to the person who guesses the correct number. In case of ties, winners will be randomly selected.
