2012 Spring Registration Patch Design Contest - Winner

Have you always loved drawing, design and creating? Then this is the thing for you - It's Your Patch, Design It! Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois are looking for a girl designed patch for our upcoming 2012 Spring Registration and will be provided to girls across the council. This is an opportunity for all you designers to show us your creativity.

Council Own Patch Program

Council Own Patch Programs are earned awards that are unique to Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa & Western Illinois (GSEIWI). They provide additional opportunities for girls to Discover topics that are not covered in earned grade level awards, Connect to others and Take Action in their communities. Council patch programs are not offered through Girl Scouts of the USA.

GSUSA Program Patches are UNOFFICIAL recognition and therefore may only be worn on the back of the sash or vest, or on a patch jacket.

How to Order Patches

Patches can be purchased online or from your local Girl Scout Leader Center. You can also order patches using the patch order form.

Most patches are kept in stock at the Girl Scout Shops; however, some patches may need to be ordered, especially for larger quantities.

What are council patches?

Council patches are earned awards that are unique to Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois (GSEIWI). They provide additional opportunities for girls to discover topics that are not covered in earned grade level awards, connect with others and take action in their communities. Council patch programs are not offered through Girl Scouts of the USA. Council patches are unofficial recognitions.

Who can earn council patches?

Any registered Girl Scout who meets the grade level requirements listed can earn a council patch. Girls affiliated with a troop, an interest group or registered as Girl Scout Juliettes may work on council patch programs. Girl Scouts from other councils may also earn these patches.

Can my girls participate in any of the patch programs offered?

Each patch program comes with specific grade requirements. These programs were designed with the abilities of girls in these grades in mind. Please note that leaders should refer to the Safety Activity Checkpoints and the Volunteer Essentials Guide while planning for all troop activities to ensure that the proper training, insurance and guidelines are met to ensure the safety of the group.

Where are council patches worn on a uniform?
