Special Event Fund Raisers

Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa & Western Illinois has several special event fund raisers planned for the upcoming months for you to attend that are a great way to support Girl Scouts. By attending a special event, you can help financially support the girl program, resident camp and adult trainings, which benefit all girls; our leaders of tomorrow.

Dancing with the Cedar Valley Stars

On Wed., March 10 the Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois Girl Scouts will host Dancing with the Cedar Valley Stars at 7:30 p.m. in Lang Auditorium on the University of Northern Iowa Campus. Five Cedar Valley “celebrities” have been training with UNI Dance Students to prepare for the competition. All tickets are general admission and to be paid for the night of the show. They will be available at the door and can be reserved through the Waterloo Girl Scout Service Center (319-232-6601). Doors open for seating at 7:00 p.m. The money will be used to support “An Evening with Shawn Johnson”, sponsored by the Girl Scouts. The couples will each perform their original choreography and be judged by a number of area dance experts, as well as a pair of girl scouts. Come watch UNI football player Jamar Thompson, Partner of ME&V Dee Vandeventer, University Book and Supply President Rose Lorenz, Music Director of COOL 105.7 Craig Laue and respected Waterloo doctor Steve Styron as they compete to be Dancing with the Cedar Valley Stars Grand Champion. Also, come see the debut performance by the UNI student show choir, Vocal AmmUNItion!
