May 6, 2011 -Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois would like to thank the supporters of the 2011 Troop 2 Troop Cookie Share Program. Through the generosity people in our communities and the hard work of our Girl Scouts, we have collected more than 31,000 boxes of cookies that will be sent to our troops overseas. April 5, 2011 - In order to allow more people to participate in our 100th Anniversary book project, Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois has extended the deadline from March 31 to April 30 for story submissions.
We still want your stories because there are many Girl Scout stories to tell. These stories inspire not only our girls as they learn through our Leadership Experience, they also inspire the thousands of volunteers who help us every day of the year. Continue story »

March 23, 2011 - It's been a long road since the flood of 2008 left 8 feet of water behind in our offices in Cedar Rapids. Our staff was relocated to a store in Westdale Mall for more than two years.
We now have sharp, shiny new offices in the brand-new Human Services Campus of East Central Iowa in downtown Cedar Rapids. We'd love for you to come see our new offices and the incredible non-profit facility we're proud to call home. Continue story »

November 9, 2010 - For the first time in nearly a decade, Girl Scouts of the USA is putting the manufacture of its uniforms out to competitive bid. News of this led to reports that the uniforms might soon be manufactured overseas, and in the past two weeks, Girl Scouts of the USA was contacted by parents, members and volunteers – including many from Girl Scouts of Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois – urging them to make sure that the iconic Girl Scout uniform continues to be made in the USA.
